This baby photoshoot in my Roodepoort home studio was especially meaningful because it was requested by a granny who wanted to fill her home with images of her grandchildren. Baby photography has a beautiful way of becoming part of family spaces, turning memories into art that is enjoyed every single day.

The session had a calm and gentle feel, with soft neutral outfits that kept the focus on the baby’s expressions and personality. This newborn baby girl photoshoot in my Roodepoort home studio was soft, calm, and incredibly special. Dressed in handmade outfits created by the photographer, the session focused on natural tones with gentle splashes of colour, creating timeless and delicate images.

The baby was tiny, making every pose feel extra precious. Newborn sessions like these are always a reminder of how fleeting this stage truly is.

It was also wonderful to photograph this family again after capturing mom’s maternity shoot. Seeing the journey come full circle — from pregnancy to holding a newborn in your arms — is one of the most meaningful parts of newborn photography.

Branding Photoshoot for Author & Counsellor | Shumi Kali

The Power of Forgiveness.

A few months ago, I had the honour of photographing Shumi Kali, a client who has supported my business since 2018. She has gifted many photo session vouchers to loved ones over the years, and every person she sends my way arrives with the same kindness she carries.

This session was extra special — Shumi booked her headshot and branding photos for the release of her very first book, The Power of Forgiveness. As a counsellor and pastor, her work centres around healing and guiding others, and this project is such a beautiful extension of her calling.

Although she is naturally shy and not always comfortable in front of the camera, Shumi absolutely shined during her shoot here in my Roodepoort home studio. With three formal outfit looks and a calm, elegant mood, the session unfolded smoothly and beautifully. Watching her step confidently into this new chapter was truly inspiring.

I’m incredibly proud of what she has accomplished, and grateful to have captured this milestone moment for her.

It was a bit rushed, but that didn’t stop us from capturing beautiful, timeless photos. What made this session even more special was reconnecting with the family. I had the honor of photographing them during maternity and newborn shoots years ago, when they were expecting their third child. Seeing their family grow and documenting another milestone was truly heartwarming.

This 1-month baby shoot with little Melokanyo was simply adorable. Held in my home studio in Wilgeheuwel, Roodepoort, he was wrapped in a soft cream cloth and posed in a white basket against a fresh green backdrop, one of my current favorites for its calm, minimalistic style.

Even at one month old, he was a dream to work with. Babies at this age can be a little fussy, but Melokanyo fell asleep peacefully, allowing us to capture those serene and heart-melting moments every parent dreams of.

This one-year-old cake smash with baby Lesedi was pure joy from start to finish. Held in my home studio in Roodepoort, the setup featured a modern white, blue, and metallic balloon arch paired beautifully with a simple denim dungaree and white shirt.

Although he started out a little shy, his gentle personality soon began to shine through — with sweet smiles, curious looks, and those precious little moments every parent treasures. The modern cake theme tied everything together so beautifully, creating timeless photos that his family will cherish for years to come.
