A few months ago, I had the honour of photographing Shumi Kali, a client who has supported my business since 2018. She has gifted many photo session vouchers to loved ones over the years, and every person she sends my way arrives with the same kindness she carries.

This session was extra special — Shumi booked her headshot and branding photos for the release of her very first book, The Power of Forgiveness. As a counsellor and pastor, her work centres around healing and guiding others, and this project is such a beautiful extension of her calling.

Although she is naturally shy and not always comfortable in front of the camera, Shumi absolutely shined during her shoot here in my Roodepoort home studio. With three formal outfit looks and a calm, elegant mood, the session unfolded smoothly and beautifully. Watching her step confidently into this new chapter was truly inspiring.

I’m incredibly proud of what she has accomplished, and grateful to have captured this milestone moment for her.
