Cake Smashing
Siyabonga was a sweet heart at his first birthday party. However he did not care much for his cake, never the less we got some great shots of him exploring the studio.

Each family is unique and beautiful in their own way. I have yet to come across a family that I didn’t like. Everyone has their own flavour. Their smiles, their expressions and how they love each other makes each session completely different even if you try the same poses.
I had the privilege of meeting Wilhelm Steyn this week and took his first ever professional headshot.
The end result really speaks for itself. Wilhelm is a friendly, kind and very intelligent individual who knows everything about building websites from scratch.
His is the owner and web designer for Mango Fusion situated in Rand en Dal, Krugersdorp.

He may just be the person you’ve been looking for to design your very own website.
You need to be fit and healthy if your going to photograph twins…
Im just kidding, photographing twins is so rewarding but also very challenging. Probably more challenging for the parent than for me. All of the sudden a child who is generally confidant and friendly turn shy and unsure. Happy children start crying. Silent children start running or crawling away. Messy children don’t want to touch the cake… the list is endless. With twins it is even worse as both take on a different personalty and parents scramble to understand and comfort their little ones.
Its interesting to see how the parents are in shock as the children before them, the children they know, change within an instant and are barley recognizable to their parents.
I love this idea, the idea of chaos and that one day the children will ask their parents about the photo shoot they had, and the parents will have a great story to tell with loads of laughter and relief. below I share a few twin sessions Ive had this year and will share more on Facebook and Instagram this week.
I have many clients asking me what the sitter session is all about. I thought I would create a video to show a few images of this type of shoot and then also just explain a little bit here. Typically a sitter session is booked as a family session. Depending on the age of your child we will create a few setups to show your child’s milestone. This could be one or a few of the following:
Laying on Back – Tummy Time – Sitting – Crawling – Standing with Support
For the most part though this session is a family session. Clients bring their own clothing for the family images, but for the sitter session I supply the props with baskets and even the outfit.
It is always a pleasure photographing Newborns and always a bit scary when a sibling is going to join in. The photographer never knows if the sibling is coping with the new baby, is he or she having a good day? This really can be very daunting! However not with the van der Linde family though. Their little boy was so excited to have a brother. So loving and so gentle, always happy to try something and holding his brother with so much care.
